NACK Training Fund

NACK Training Fund

March 1, 2024

“We meet in a spirit of fellowship and to pass on to others the skills and knowledge we’ve gained. We exchange information on safety, education, paddling experiences, and other paddling related subjects.”

I. Introduction

The NACK Training Fund, (hereby referred to as the “Fund”), was created to encourage NACK members to increase their kayaking and safety skills by attending qualified training workshops, programs, or certifications (collectively, a “Qualified Training Program”). In an effort to embrace the evolving trends of the modern paddler, the Fund has been created to replace both the NACK Work program and NACK Bucks program. Although, both legacy programs were historically successful, the diminishing number of outreach opportunities and members’ declining interest in the NACK Bucks program led to the development of the Fund. The Fund supports the club’s mission of exchanging information on safety, education, and paddling experiences while enhancing the skills and education of the modern paddler. The purpose of the Fund is to supplement the cost of members’ training per the eligibility and qualifications guidelines outlined below.

C. A three-member committee (the “Training Fund Committee”) will determine the eligibility of the NACK member as a Qualified NACK Member and evaluate the training course, workshop, or certification to determine if it meets the requirements of a Qualified Training Program before recommending approval for reimbursement eligibility.

D. The Fund does not discriminate against members based on race, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, national origin, native language, religion, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, pregnancy, or any other characteristic protected by law.
