NACK Meeting 12/13/2012 with Mike Bottini

The next NACK Meeting, with special guest, naturalist Mike Bottini, will be Thursday, December 13, 2012  at the Connetquot Public Library.  After a brief pre-meeting, we’ll have nominations and elections for four Board of Director positions.

At 7:30 pm Mike will have a powerpoint presentation on the MAMMALS OF LONG ISLAND.  It’s all about Long Island’s terrestrial mammals, from the tiny least shrew to the white-tailed deer, with interesting natural history facts for each species. Mike is the author of the most comprehensive guide to kayaking and canoeing on the East End of Long Island, Exploring East End Waters . He is a veteran naturalist, outdoor educator, and environmental consultant. After completing graduate studies in wildlife ecology at the University of British Columbia, Mike worked for fourteen years at the Group for the South Fork, a non-profit environmental advocacy organization.  For more about Mike, and his programs, check out his website mikebottini.com
