South Shore Blueway Trail Seeks Paddler Input

The South Shore Blueway Trail Project needs input from kayakers to help develop a water-based trail for the paddling community in the western portion of the Long Island South Shore Estuary Reserve. Your suggestions for new water access points, launch sites, and trail routes are vital to the planning of this new water trail.

The project will establish and promote a network of launch sites for non-motorized watercraft in the Hempstead Bays and South Oyster Bay. The new recreational corridor will increase connections to cultural, historical and ecological resources, like parks, natural areas and business districts.  There will be a number of ways that paddlers can get involved with this project. Check their website for details. In the meantime take their water trail user survey.
