North Atlantic Canoe and Kayak is offering the American Canoe Association Coastal Kayak training class “ACA Introduction to Kayaking” Sunday June 3rd in Oyster Bay. This six hour course will include additional material to help prepare  for  ACA Level 1 & 2 Coastal Kayak Skills Assessments.

This class  is suitable for both beginners and for experienced paddlers who have had some formal instruction. It includes the latest techniques for rescues and  boat control. We will have the kayak handling portion of the training from 9AM to Noon and the rescue portion 1PM to 4 PM. The cost of this training for NACK members is $50 for each session or $75 for both. ACA Cards will be provided to those who complete both sessions.

In addition NACK will be conducting the “ACA Kayak  Quickstart”  training program.  This class is suitable for new paddlers and is offered free of charge for NACK members.

All training will be given by ACA Certified Coastal Kayak Instructors and will coincide with our Outreach Program at Bay Day in Oyster Bay.
