a couple with fresh catches of fish gripped in their talons and then we saw a snapping turtle&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span class=\"filename-text\"><span style=\"color: #11053b;\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-19.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3783\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-19-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-19-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-19-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-19-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #11053b;\">which prompted several comments of\u00a0\u201cis it alive?\u201d; but not to worry as Joy assured us upon closer inspection that it was alive and well. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #11053b;\">Shortly thereafter we saw the first eagle nest and Paul made the first siting of a soaring Bald Eagle.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #11053b;\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3784\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-7-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carmans River -rs (7)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-7-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-7-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Carmans-River-rs-7-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">No matter how many times I\u2019ve been fortunate enough to see one of these magnificent birds they still manage to captivate me.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #11053b; font-family: Arial;\">As the group paddled along toward the second eagle nest Joy let out cry of what can only be described as pure\u00a0exhilaration when she exclaimed\u00a0\u201cit\u2019s a Bittern!\u201d. \u00a0Not knowing what she was so excited about I paddled over to her and she told me this was only the sixth time she had ever seen a Bittern and I figured that in of itself must make this extra special so I decided to hang back with her to have a look at this bird. \u00a0When I asked her to\u00a0point it out to me she told me it was in the reeds, two clumps of mud to the left. \u00a0I didn\u2019t see a thing and the more I looked the more frustrated I became as I could not find this bird that she was going crazy over. \u00a0About this time Troy joined us in his 12 foot solo canoe&#8230;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/unspecified-2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3797\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/unspecified-2-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"unspecified-2\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/unspecified-2.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/unspecified-2-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/unspecified-2-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #11053b;\">and asked me what all the commotion was about and I proceeded to tell him about this rare siting of a Bittern. \u00a0He too questioned where it was and after a minute or two he spotted the elusive bird;
