{"id":3425,"date":"2015-05-08T20:22:29","date_gmt":"2015-05-09T00:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/?p=3425"},"modified":"2015-05-08T22:03:18","modified_gmt":"2015-05-09T02:03:18","slug":"spring-is-in-the-air-with-nack-paddlers-everywhere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/?p=3425","title":{"rendered":"Spring is in the Air, with NACK paddlers everywhere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This just in from ALAN.<\/p>\n<p>Well, after a few official &amp; unofficial April paddles the new paddling season has officially begun (though for a few of us lucky ones, the 2014 season never ended!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Timber-Point-41.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3426\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Timber-Point-41-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"Timber Point (41)\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Timber-Point-41-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Timber-Point-41-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>NACK held its first peer practices of the season this past Monday &amp; though it seemed that having a Nassau County option may have bled off some attendance from the Timber Point session, it still was a very productive &amp; enjoyable evening for the foursome who turned up @Great River. A nice outing, capped off by another beautiful, trademark Connetquot sunset. -with no bugs! (yet)<\/p>\n<p>Under a warm late afternoon sun &amp; with now-reasonable water temps we practiced various advanced ruddering strokes &amp; assisted rescues right off the launch area for a while.<\/p>\n<p>And even though early arrivals Tom &amp; Debbie had already warmed up with a paddle downriver &amp; around Nicoll Island, they were more than happy to then lead Ron &amp; myself down &amp; around for another lap.<\/p>\n<p>A steady wind out of the South with some wind driven waves greeted us as we turned into the bay.
