Well, the folks at Belmont Lake State Park came up with an idea for a unique fall festival just before Halloween. \u00a0Besides lots of activities for the youngsters there was a pumpkin carving contest with a twist. \u00a0Once darkness fell 50 of the best pumpkins were lighted, loaded on floats, and towed around the lake.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/belmont-lake-pumpkin-paddle\/darkness\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3064\" alt=\"Darkness\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Darkness-1024x486.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"284\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Darkness-1024x486.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Darkness-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s where paddlers from North Atlantic Canoe&amp; Kayak were enlisted to tow the rafts of pumpkins. \u00a0To be honest it was pretty difficult towing a dozen big pumpkins each on its own individual 2 foot square float. \u00a0But it was all worth it when we saw the crowds of kids and their parents lining the shoreline as we passed back and forth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/belmont-lake-pumpkin-paddle\/pumpkins\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3066\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3066\" alt=\"Pumpkins\" src=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Pumpkins-1024x382.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"223\" srcset=\"https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Pumpkins-1024x382.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/get-the-nack.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Pumpkins-300x112.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What&#8217;s a &#8220;Pumpkin Paddle&#8221; you might ask?
